Genetics of membrane transporters

Research team
Bochud Murielle PI

The aim of this project is to position TransCure’s transporter/channel targets in a broader context and identify opportunities to link its basic scientific achievements to potential future translational applications.  Through access to different population-based cohorts and publicly available databases, (1) the inventory of variants in the genes of specific interest to selected NCCR TransCure projects (DMT1, FNP, SLC7, TRPM4) and (2) the association of these variants with human traits is analysed. For different cohorts, there is a wealth of phenotypic information available making the association to genetic variants an attractive and promising approach to identify options for future translational applications.
