Daniel Fuster
Daniel Fuster received his MD degree in 1998 at the University of Bern. After clinical training in Internal Medicine and Nephrology at the University Hospital of Bern (1998 – 2001), he spent 5 years (2001-2006) for both basic science and clinical training at the UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX. After the return from the US, he started his own research group at the Institute of Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine while continuing clinical work at the Division of Nephrology at the University Hospital of Bern, currently as Consultant and Associate Professor of Nephrology. His research interests include physiological and pathophysiological aspects of sodium/hydrogen exchanger isoforms (SLC9 family), renal tubular disorders and kidney stone disease.
