Anna Borgström

In her Postdoc project Anna Borgström is focusing on investigating the pathophysiological role of TRPM4 (transient receptor potential melastine 4) in prostate cancer with the use of different TRPM4 blockers and TRPM4-knockout rats and aims to elucidate its role in different cancer hallmarks, such as uncontrolled proliferation, increased migration and protection against apoptosis. 

Anna obtained her PhD from the Cancer Biology Phd Program at Life Science Zurich Graduate School, University of Zurich in 2013. After working on different research project in biochemistry and molecular diagnostics at the University of Zurich she joined Prof. Peinelt’s Group (and NCCR Transcure) as a Postdoc in the middle of 2016.
